Our Editorial & Clinical Methodology

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Patients make decisions based on what they read. This page sets out how clinical content on the International Eye Hospital website is written, who reviews it, which sources we rely on, and how often it is checked.

How We Write Our Medical Content

Clinical pages on this website are drafted from three sources: the way procedures are actually performed at our hospital, the manufacturer documentation for the equipment and lenses we use, and current ophthalmic reference material published by recognised professional bodies.

We write in plain language, define technical terms the first time they appear, and describe what a patient can expect step by step. We deliberately avoid absolute language about outcomes.

  • No guaranteed vision outcomes, success rates or 'permanent' claims.
  • No certifications, awards or accreditations beyond those the hospital has supplied.
  • No comparison that presents another provider or technology as unsafe.
  • Prices and package details are confirmed by the hospital in person, not quoted as fixed on this website.

Clinical Review Process

Every page that describes a condition, procedure, diagnostic test or device is reviewed by a consultant ophthalmologist at International Eye Hospital before publication, and again whenever the underlying protocol or equipment changes.

Review covers factual accuracy, whether the described workflow matches what we do at our Gulberg facility, whether risks and limitations are stated fairly, and whether the wording could be read as a promise. Where a claim cannot be supported, it is removed rather than softened.

Sources & Citations

The professional bodies and manufacturer resources below are the reference material we consult most often when writing and reviewing clinical content. Listing a source indicates that we reference its published material; it does not indicate endorsement, affiliation or accreditation of this hospital by that organisation.

Update Schedule

We review clinical pages at least once a year, and sooner when any of the following happens: we install or retire a device, a manufacturer updates its documentation or indications, a professional body revises relevant guidance, or a patient or clinician tells us a page is unclear.

Legal and policy pages carry a 'Last updated' date at the top. Where a page has changed materially, the date reflects that revision rather than a cosmetic edit.

Corrections & Feedback

If you find something on this website that is inaccurate, out of date, or written in a way that could mislead a patient, we want to know. Corrections are made promptly and, where the meaning of a clinical page changes, the review date is updated.

Send corrections and feedback to info@internationaleyehospital.pk, or call +92 333 405 8825 during hospital hours and ask for the administration office.
